Một hôm, cả nhà đều đi vắng, chỉ còn một cô gái mười sáu tuổi ở nhà, dung mạo xinh đẹp vô cùng. Tình cờ, hôm ấy cô gái quên mất chuyện mang thức ăn đến chùa cúng dường. Đến giờ ăn, vị tỳ-kheo liền sai chú sa-di tự đi đến nhà người ưu-bà tắc ấy để nhận thức ăn. Cô gái nghe tiếng gõ cửa, biết là chú sa-di đến, mừng rỡ ra đón vào nhà, cử chỉ hết sức đa tình quyến rũ, lại nói với sa-di : "Tài sản nhà tôi nhiều lắm, không thể tính xuể, nếu anh chịu thương tôi, tôi sẽ làm vợ anh ngay." Chú sa-di tự suy nghĩ : "Không biết ta đã tạo tội gì mà nay gặp phải chuyện xấu ác này. Ta thà bỏ mạng cũng không thể hủy phá giới luật. Nhưng nếu giờ ta bỏ chạy khỏi nơi này, cô ta chắc chắn sẽ lôi kéo, chạy theo, người đi đường nhìn thấy thì hóa ra chuốc lấy sự ô nhục."
